VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITES
Come out and make a difference...
Volunteers needed for Lauren Villa Home....
This is a home for adults with mental disabilities, ranging from bi-polar
disorders to schizophrenia. These patients are highly functional (can reason
and converse) and completely ambulatory.
The home needs volunteers to direct activities such as games and exercise
between the hours of 9am and 11am Monday through Friday. Any amount of
volunteer time you can give would be appreciated. Transportation to this
nearby home during the school year may be provided.
There is an application process. It is recommended that applicants have some
experience working in a nursing home or experience with those who have mental
disorders. Applicants must also be interviewed by Kathy Sampilo, director of
this activity and Special Projects Coordinator. Finally, applicants are
given a tour of the facilities whereupon the final decision is made.
